Fred M. Apgar

Fred Apgar joined the United States Air Force in 1967, and following completion of Officer Training School, he attended the Armed Forces Air Intelligence Training Center at Lowry AFB in Denver, Colorado. He volunteered for combat duty during the Vietnam War and was assigned to the 7th Airborne Command and Control Squadron (7ACCS) at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base as an Air Intelligence Officer.

Fred is the former District Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics for the Manhasset and East Williston Public School Districts on Long Island, New York. He has received numerous awards and honors, held numerous leadership positions, and has had several articles published in professional journals. In 2003, he was named New York Professional of the Year.

Fred is most proud of his service to our nation. Over the years, he had spent much of his time volunteering in various organizations. Currently, he lives in Savannah, Georgia, and is on what is, seemingly and endless road trip visiting American historic sites.
